Description

Quatech's SPP-100 is a PC-Card 2.1 compliant Type-II PCMCIA card which adds an IEEE-1284 compatible parallel port to the host computer. The SPP-100 is the only parallel PCMCIA card on the market which fully supports the IEEE 1284 EPP standard. AS well as EPP mode, the SPP-100 can also function in PC compatible and bi-directional modes. The card includes an interface cable which provides a standard 25-pin female connector output.

The SPP-100 will be assigned to the lowest LPT port available by default. However, users may select the particular LPT port to which the SPP-100 is assigned. In addition, users may specify any base address and interrupt level for the SPP-100.

All necessary software is included to install and configure the SPP-100 for use with DOS/Windows 3.x and OS/2. The SPP-100 is also compatible with Windows 95. Upon request, special software drivers are included for HP Palmtop users.

Suggested Applications

• Interface to printers and plotters
• Bidirectional interface to peripherals that support the IEEE 1284 Interface
• Portable data acquisition
• Interface to external tape drives and hard disks
