Introduction
Specially designed for the factory
floor and other harsh industrial environments, the IPC-6806 Node IPC
Chassis is meant for system integrators or users who require a compact,
rugged PC/XT.AT compatible system. The IPC-6806 is fitted with a 6-slot
passive backplane, a 150-Watt power supply, one 3.5" floppy disk drive
and one 3.5" hard drive. Status indicators (for power ON/OFF, HDD) and a
reset switch are also provided.
Cards are protected from vibration by a
rubber buffered clamp. A cooling fan pressurizes the case to keep dust
out. A front-loading filter is included to make changing easy. The power
supply produces a steady 150 watts, which is more than enough for a full
set of cards plus drives and meets UL, CSA, VDE and IEC standards.
This 6-slot enclosure puts a PC bus
system in the tightest of spaces-it's only 6.5" wide. Brackets make it
easy to mount on walls. And it's an a inexpensive choice for both
disk-based and diskless systems.
For maximum protection against
equipment failure, a solid-state Flash/RAM/ROM disk card such as our
PCD-890 may be installed. With it, you can create a "diskless" remote
station or cell controller that's cost effective and durable.
