Description
Quatech's 410D Series is designed
to provide the best value available in Ethernet serial device
servers. The SSE-410D single-port and the DSE-410D two-port models
come with an extensive feature set that sets them apart from other
serial device servers in their respective price ranges. Each has a
port that is switch-selectable for RS-232, 422 & 485, and
supports baud rates up to 230K. The DSE-410D offers an additional
RS-232 port, and both models ship with direct driver support for
Windows® 98, Me, NT4, 2000 and XP. They can also be accessed using
standard TCP/IP socket commands, and support Paired Mode (serial
tunneling) applications. Other features include an auto-sensing
10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface, TCP and UDP Client/Server modes,
and a Heartbeat feature to automatically re-establish communications
when network connections are lost. These models support Telnet
configuration and, for added security, the ability to reject
connections from all but a single, defined IP address. With all that
flexibility built-in, you can confidently deploy it in any number of
different serial device-to-network applications. Its low price and
attractive feature set makes it competitive, but Quatech's
