The HV-M Series of compact power packs are designed to operate from the most commonly used line frequencies of 50 Hz to 500 Hz. Input voltages are 118V, 220V, 230V and 240V.
EACH ITEM CAN BE MODIFIED FOR A LOWER RATED OUTPUT VOLTAGE. That is, the HV100-502M, which is rates at 10KVDC output with 118V AC input may be readily modified to deliver 7KV by the substitution of a properly rated transformer with a small modification charge. Also the rated input voltage can be changed as required.

Select the part number for output voltage and current. This number has a rated input voltage of 118V. If 220V, 230V, or 240V input is required, add the suffix letter "W" to the part number. "MW" type units have separate input terminals for these three voltages only.

The HV-M Series Power Packs have these important features:

1. Input Voltage 0 to rated input voltage at 50 to 500 Hz.
    
2. Output Ratings many are available in 1.5, 5, 10 and 15 milliamp designs.
    
3. Ripple 1% RMS or 2.75% peak to peak at rated voltage.
    
4. Output Voltage can be varied from 0 to rated voltage and load by means of a variable auto transformer.
    
5. Two Output Terminals are isolated from the container, permitting either terminal or both to be operated away from ground. CAUTION: The container must e connected to a potential within the range of the POWER PACK, i.e. to same point on the bleeder string if not to a terminal. EXCEPTION: The HV750-152M and HV750-502M have only one high voltage terminal. These power packs will be supplied to deliver a positive output is desired, specify the extra suffix letter "A" on your order to the factory. Polarity cannot be readily converted, in the field, from positive to negative.
    
6. Ambient Temperature Range is - 55ºC to + 85ºC (with limited ratings). EXCEPTION: The HV300-502M, HV500-502M and the HV750-502M are limited to operation at an ambient temperature of 50ºC maximum.
7. Design Life 40,000 hours at 35ºC and 25,000 hours at 65ºC at rated output. Life is 5,000 hours at 85ºC if the output current is no more than 80% of the rated current. Useful life is generally double the figure given above if an approximately 3% drop in voltage is tolerable.
    
8. Mounting Position: Any. (Except HV375-103M and HV750-502M).
    
9. Altitude up to 10,000 feet operating 50,000 feet non-operating.
    
10. Vibration 10 to 55 Hz with a total of 0.06 inches for 2 hours in each plane for all power packs which have a base dimension (the A and B dimensions) of 3-3/4 x 4-9/16" or less. Larger units are designed for bench handling, general laboratory use, and equipment not subject to excessive shock and handling.
     
11. Salt Spray per MIL-Q-151 for 50 hours.
     
12. Rectifiers are long life silicon type, properly selected and used under de-rated conditions to assure long life.
     
13. Filter Capacitors are special film types and designed in particular for long life.
     
14. Hermetically Sealed Container Sealing is accomplished with seamed and soldered CP70 type container, and solder seal bushings.
     
15. Oil filled Container prevents corona. The oil is inhibited, e-gassed and filtered.
     
16. Container Finish Zinc chromate primer and light blue-gray lacquer per MIL-L-7178.
     
17. Terminals are steatite. solder seal type with solder lug terminals. Units rated at 25KVDC and higher are furnished with corona spheres, which accept a miniature banana plug.
